Dusseldorf After weak specifications from Asia and the USA, the German stock market also started trading a little lower on Friday: Shortly after the opening, the Dax was down 0.3 percent at 12,494 points.
After several central banks had raised interest rates on Thursday in the fight against high inflation, the leading German index closed 1.8 percent lower at 12,514 points. On Wall Street, the leading indices also ended trading on Thursday in the red – the Nasdaq technology exchange lost the most at 1.4 percent. The Chinese stock markets also closed lower on Friday, while the Japanese stock exchanges were closed for a holiday.
Worries about a recession are weighing on the international markets. Investors fear that the central banks will raise interest rates too much in the fight against high inflation, thereby stalling the economy.
