Dax starts the day weaker

Frankfurt Investors’ concerns on the stock markets remain deep. After a weak start on Tuesday with an interim loss of up to around one percent, the leading German index Dax is 0.5 percent lower at 12,217 points in morning trading. The index for medium-sized stocks MDax and the euro zone index Euro Stoxx 50 are also weaker.

In Asia, the Japanese index Nikkei 225 lost a significant 2.6 percent. In contrast, the leading indices on the Chinese mainland stock exchanges Shanghai and Shenzhen rose slightly.

The massive bombing of Ukrainian cities and fears of an impact on the economy are causing a gloomy mood on the stock markets. Investors should keep an eye on the deliberations of the seven leading industrialized nations (G7) on the war. The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj is to be involved.
