Dax opens slightly in the red – tech stocks depress the markets

Frankfurt After the German share index (Dax) ended trading at 16,204 points on Thursday with an increase of almost 0.6 percent, a clouded trend became apparent on Friday morning.

Half an hour after the start of the stock market, the Dax was down more than half a percent at 16,113 points. The picture was mixed across Europe, with the broad Stoxx Europe 600 index slipping slightly into the red at first.

The day before, the US stock market was mainly characterized by bad numbers from Tesla and Netflix. While the Dow Jones index, in which traditional companies play the leading role, still made it into the green, the broad S&P 500 was down almost 0.7 percent and the tech exchange Nasdaq ended trading more than 2 percent lower.
