Dax loses over 300 points and slips to a new low for the year

Dusseldorf On the German stock market, the Dax slipped to its lowest level of the year so far after a pleasing start to trading. The new low for the year is now 12,419 points, almost 20 points below the previous mark. In the late afternoon, the leading index was at 12,428 points, a drop of 2.7 percent or the equivalent of almost 350 points.

All the stabilization tendencies of the past few days are gone, the downward trend of the past week has picked up speed again. The previous record low of 12,438 points was in March.
