Dax: Index development and prices up to date

Dusseldorf The Dax is initially hardly moving on Thursday: About half an hour after the start of trading, the leading German index is down 0.3 percent at 15,920 points. On Wednesday, the Frankfurt benchmark ended trading 0.2 percent lower at 15,961 points.

The stock market has been extremely calm again for four days. The Dax has been in a daily trading range of only around 100 points since last Friday. Also this Thursday there are less than 50 points so far.

Despite the public holiday in several federal states, this does not have to remain the case, says Thomas Altmann from QC Partners. According to his assessment, the trading volumes are likely to be lower, but this does not mean that the fluctuations will remain low. “On such days it takes significantly fewer orders to trigger larger price movements.”
