Dax: Index development and prices up to date

Dusseldorf The Dax struggled on Thursday with the 16,000 point mark: After the leading German index had risen to 16,019 points at noon, it then fluctuated around the psychologically important value. After the weekly US job data was published, the Dax was still up 0.2 percent in the afternoon at 15,992 points. On Wednesday, the Frankfurt benchmark ended trading 0.2 percent lower at 15,961 points.

The stock market has been quiet for four days. The Dax has been in a daily trading range of only around 100 points since last Friday. Also this Thursday there are only about 100 points.

Despite the public holiday in several federal states, this does not have to remain the case, says Thomas Altmann from QC Partners. According to his assessment, the trading volumes are likely to be lower, but this does not mean that the fluctuations will remain low. “On such days it takes significantly fewer orders to trigger larger price movements.”
