Dax course currently: Dax records new losses

Dusseldorf Concerns about a global recession also weighed on the mood on the German stock market at the beginning of the new trading week: The Dax increased its losses late Monday morning and was down one percent at 12,620 points. The high was 12,709 points. On Friday, the Dax ended trading 1.7 percent lower at 12,741 points. In the past trading week, the Frankfurt benchmark collapsed by a total of 2.7 percent.

The trigger for the price slide was the latest inflation data from the USA: At 8.3 percent, inflation in August was above analysts’ expectations.

For this reason, investors are focusing on the US Federal Reserve (Fed): At their meeting on Wednesday, the monetary authorities will decide on their future monetary policy course. Investors fear that to fight inflation, they will raise interest rates so much that they will stall the economy.
