Dax closes slightly in the red – but stays above the 16,000 point mark

Dusseldorf The German stock market failed to match its initial gains on Wednesday. The Dax closed 0.1 percent lower at 16,108 points. The MDax with the medium-sized German titles, on the other hand, gained 1.1 percent to 28,380 points.

The Dax had previously benefited from the good specifications from Wall Street and had climbed 0.7 percent to 16,240 points in the first hour of trading. The stock market barometer had thus temporarily reached a new July high. From a technical point of view, the way is clear towards the record high, which is 16,427 points.

Despite the slight minus at the end of trading, the Dax has been above the 16,000 mark for the fifth day in a row. It has been the fourth “excursion” over this round mark for three months, and it is becoming increasingly concrete.
