Dax closes slightly in the red – Auto1 benefits from a US forecast

Frankfurt German investors are holding back a bit on Friday. The most important indices show only moderate changes. At the close of trading, the leading index Dax was down 0.3 percent at around 15,950 points.

On a day without significant domestic news from companies, Rheinmetall and Vonovia are among the biggest winners in the Dax 40 with price premiums of more than two and three percent respectively. At the lower end, the shares of Symrise and Brenntag each lose more than four percent, while BASF and Bayer lose more than one percent. In general, German chemical stocks are suffering from a profit warning from the British specialty chemicals group Croda.

In the SDax, Auto1 stood out with an increase of up to seven percent. According to a stockbroker, the shares benefited from the optimistic Ebitda forecast for the second quarter at the US online second-hand goods retailer Carvana. Carvana shares were up more than 50 percent in US trading. The papers of the shop pharmacy suffer from an analyst downgrade and fall by almost nine percent.
