Dax closes below 16,000 points – markets in a difficult phase

Frankfurt Skepticism currently prevails among investors on the German stock market. The leading index Dax was in the red throughout trading on Wednesday and ultimately closed 0.63 percent lower at 15,938 points. The Dax has thus fallen below the 16,000 point mark again.

After the stock market recovery since the beginning of the year, the markets have entered a difficult phase. According to experts, the risk of recession, persistently high inflation and likely falling company profits mean that double-digit price declines can even be expected.

The US stock exchanges resumed trading on Wednesday after the holiday break with slight discounts. The USA has a leading function both economically and on the stock exchange. Investors are currently waiting for further economic figures that could provide indications of the further monetary policy course of the US Federal Reserve.
