Dax closes almost unchanged after trading with little impulse

Dusseldorf The leading German index Dax has lost its slight gains from Monday morning and closed in the evening almost unchanged at 15,917 points.

The focus of investors this week is primarily on the US budget dispute: If the US Congress does not raise the debt ceiling, this could lead to national bankruptcy and, as a result, to a recession in the US economy. The hedging of US government bonds would become more expensive, the dollar rate would fall.

At the end of the past trading week, continued concerns about the US regional banks sector also weighed on the mood on the stock exchange: After a temporary recovery, the prices of Pacwest, Western Alliance and Co. on Wall Street fell again, which added to the crisis of confidence in the banking industry strengthened.
