Daimler Truck stops alliance with armored car manufacturer

Production of military vehicles at Kamaz

The Russian manufacturer is now on the EU sanctions list.

Munich, Berlin After almost twelve years of cooperation, Daimler Truck is putting all activities with the Russian vehicle manufacturer Kamaz on hold. As a result of the Ukraine war, not a single truck will be built in the joint venture “DK RUS” and no more components will be supplied to Kamaz, Daimler Truck told the Handelsblatt.

The world’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer is reacting to sharp criticism of the alliance with the Russians. After all, Kamaz is not only the leading manufacturer of trucks and buses in Russia, but has also been equipping the country’s military with armored vehicles weighing several tons for years.
