Alex Bornyakov, deputy minister of Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation and the de facto crypto spokesperson of the government, arrived in the country. cryptocurrency reported that the amount of his donations is based on the limit of 100 million dollars in total.
Speaking at an online emergency meeting called “Digital Resistance: How Ukraine Leverages Technology While Fighting for Freedom,” Bornyakov said that 60 million of the $100 million in crypto donations collected for the country were sent to the main fund run by Ukrainian cryptocurrency exchange Kuna.
Bornyakov stated that the remaining donations are cryptocurrencies sent to some other small funds.

Asked if Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky had an opinion on the role of cryptocurrencies during the war, he replied:
“Zelensky didn’t tell me directly about the cryptocurrency fund, but he also shares our vision that cryptocurrency technology is economically revolutionary. At this point we have the full support of the president.”
Bornyakov also said that he does not know if any of the US government had a meeting with Ukrainian officials about the role of cryptocurrencies in the war.
In a published interview, Bornyakov reiterated his demand for crypto companies to stop providing services to Russian users in an effort to remove Russia from the global financial system as part of unprecedented sanctions against Russia.
It was recently announced that war gear was purchased with crypto donations sent to the country.
However, Kuna founder Michael Chobanian said last week that the donations did not purchase any lethal equipment, only supplies such as fuel, supplies and bulletproof vests for soldiers.
