In particular, the IT sector, which is almost at the center of the production ecosystem today, has an extremely important position supporting all other sectors, and in recent years, it has been the basis of production for the development of not only durability and sustainability but also the country’s economies all over the world, including Turkey.

Nevertheless, it is obvious that the inoperability of data centers, which are the backbone of today’s economies and even daily life, due to power cuts will adversely affect many areas of the economy and life. In the event that the operation of the data centers ceases, not only the factories in that organized region, but also the activities of all sectors and companies, especially production, trade and finance, that receive service from the data center will be affected.
Considering that today’s production ecosystem is interconnected with digital technologies, it is not possible for even businesses that do not use digital systems not to be affected by the inability of their data centers. Although the operation of data centers is ensured with generators in case of instantaneous power outages, long interruptions that may take a few days cannot be overcome with such temporary, backup solutions that can only be used in disaster recovery situations, and continuity cannot be ensured.
In a period when we are talking about reducing energy costs in a way to ensure international competition, the use of renewable energy sources and the creation of incentive mechanisms for a sustainable energy, for the data center sector to become a center of attraction and development in our country, the fact that energy cuts are on the agenda not only in the sector, but also in the corporate world and in the daily life of individuals.
