If RippleNet can capture even a small fraction of the hundreds of trillions of dollars moved around the world by traditional financial systems, it could significantly increase demand for the limited supply of XRP.
RippleNet serves as an alternative global payment infrastructure to the established SWIFT system, enabling faster and cheaper cross-border transactions. As Farina noted, XRP is uniquely positioned to facilitate these real-time payments in mere seconds, far surpassing bitcoin or ethereum in terms of transaction speed and accuracy.
According to Farina, if RippleNet is meaningfully adopted by replacing SWIFT volumes, the altcoin’s increased utility and speed for fund transfers could also potentially push its price to $10,000 and above. While this forecast is a fairly ambitious long-term prediction, he argues that the asset’s growth prospects continue to be underestimated by critics who focus primarily on market capitalization comparisons.
