Berlin According to its founder Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Russian mercenary group Wagner is running out of ammunition. In an audio message distributed via the Telegram news service, he personally accused Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov of deliberately withholding urgently needed ammunition from his units. It is not the first attack: a few hours earlier he had already complained that the ministry had been blocked and described this as “high treason”.
The Ministry of Defense rejected this accusation on Wednesday as “absolutely false”. Prigozhin then said in the audio message: “With their announcement, the Ministry of Defense spits on Wagner.”
His private army Wagner should be “deliberately destroyed”. In the Donetsk region in particular, the Ukrainian armed forces have to fend off attacks by the Wagner fighters, who are attacking in conjunction with the Russian army.
