Brussels, Washington There is rare harmony on Capitol Hill in Washington these days, because the common enemy image of China unites the otherwise quarreling Democrats and Republicans. A special committee on the “Chinese Communist Party’s threat to America” began work on Tuesday. The focus is on new allegations that a Chinese laboratory accident is said to be responsible for the corona pandemic.
“The American people deserve answers,” urged Chairman and Republican Mike Gallagher, declaring that “evidence is mounting” that China caused the pandemic through a laboratory leak. Around seven million people worldwide have died in connection with a corona infection.
