Cisco boss sees the consequences of the Ukraine war still to come

Venice Chuck Robbins actually came to Venice to present a pilot program for hybrid work. But the global situation does not let go of the Cisco boss. Like the rest of the industry, the world’s largest network supplier is struggling with bottlenecks in raw materials and semiconductors. These had “not yet been exacerbated by the war,” Robbins told the Handelsblatt – but that could change.

He is thinking, for example, of the production of neon gas, which comes from Ukraine “and is incredibly important for semiconductor production”. Before the war began, the semiconductor manufacturers would have bought enough neon. “But that could certainly become a problem.” Metals such as palladium and nickel are just as difficult and important for the industry.
