Frankfurt, Zurich Reinsurers around the world are increasingly concerned about the effects of climate change on their own business models. Nevertheless, Christian Mumenthaler, CEO of Swiss Re, the second-largest reinsurer after Munich Re, believes that natural catastrophes are still easily insurable

However, just before the important industry meeting in Monte Carlo, he has bad news for his customers: insurance cover will be more expensive. He believes that rising insurance premiums are unavoidable. Prices are also an important signal as to where investments are still worthwhile.
