Chief Jane Fraser warns of consequences of the Ukraine war

Frankfurt Jane Fraser is the first woman to run Wall Street. And the head of Citigroup is confronted with several, sometimes difficult, challenges. For more than ten years, the US bank has been less profitable than its competitors. The compliance systems are currently being upgraded. Lucrative business areas such as asset management and transaction banking, which facilitates payment transactions for companies, are to be expanded.

Now, however, the focus is on other problems, as the bank manager explained in an interview with journalists in Frankfurt on Tuesday. “What robs me of sleep the most at night is the worry of cyberattacks,” she clarified. Like other Wall Street houses, the bank is in close contact with the government and regularly takes part in exercises. Even before the war in Ukraine, the risk of attacks was high. But this has now increased.
