ChatGPT users bypass paywalls with Bing support
The Browse with Bing feature offered with ChatGPT-4 would improve the response quality of artificial intelligence, thanks to the integration with Microsoft’s search engine. But OpenAI got into trouble. As part of a new announcement, it was reported that this support was temporarily suspended.
It turned out that some users accessed payment systems via Bing and decrypted encrypted connections with ChatGPT. This allowed users to bypass paywalls and access the pages they wanted without paying.
In the shares made on Reddit, the premium features of many pages became accessible thanks to ChatGPT. For example, some texts that are only available to subscribers were found with Bing integration and made available with the help of ChatGPT.
It is currently unknown which paywalls users are bypassing with this method. However, it is thought to occur mainly on sites that offer premium subscriptions and are only open to paying users (such as e-book platforms).
The Bing search engine was recently integrated into ChatGPT’s iOS app. Thus, when users asked a question to ChatGPT, they could search on the internet and get results accordingly.
