The division’s CEO, Lars Henner Santelmann, who has been in office since September 2015, will leave the company on January 31, 2022, the Wolfsburg-based car company announced on Thursday. His departure is at his own request. Santelmann will dedicate himself to tasks in the area of ​​environmental and nature conservation in the future. His successor is to be Christian Dahlheim, who is currently in charge of sales at the automobile manufacturer.

Santelmann has made a significant contribution to the further development of the finance division, said the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen Financial Services, Volkswagen Finance Director Arno Antlitz. “In particular, the organizational realignments as well as the alignment for a new direct and digital business model were shaped by him,” he explained.

Regarding Santelmann’s successor, Dahlheim, the group said that with him a top manager recognized throughout the group was returning to Volkswagen Financial Services. Dahlheim began his career in 2005 as Head of Corporate Development at Volkswagen Financial Services and went through many career stages there. From the beginning of 2016 to September 2018, he was already a member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Financial Services. He then became Head of Sales for the Volkswagen Group in October 2018. Volkswagen left it open who should succeed him in this position. The company said that it will be informed in due course.
