Dusseldorf The most interesting jobs are rarely simply advertised on the Internet. Instead, companies commission personnel consultancies to look for suitable candidates. According to the Federal Association of German Management Consultancies (BDU), headhunters were responsible for filling 76,000 positions in 2021.

The personnel consultants usually have excellent knowledge of one or more sectors and maintain a large network, the search is mostly digital. However, anyone who makes it into the headhunters’ field of vision will not receive any advance warning: most candidates will be surprised when they are contacted. But the first impression counts when the call or the inquiry comes via the social network.
