Especially with the coronavirus, even people who refuse to shop online have started to do their shopping online, and the importance of e-commerce platforms has increased greatly. The “2021 Turkey E-Commerce Ecosystem Report” published by iyzico, Dogma Alares and ETİD gave the clearest answer to this question. The report revealed that the number of e-commerce transactions increased by 46% compared to 2020. Accordingly, in 2021, the total 3.4 billion orders given. The volume of e-commerce increased by 69% compared to 2020. to 382 billion TL reached.

The most money was spent on November 26

  • E-commerce was mostly done from mobile (53%).
  • In 2021, 4.5% of GDP and 17.6% of the total retail sector consisted of e-commerce sales.
  • The three provinces with the most e-commerce merchants were as follows:
    • Istanbul (54.5%)
    • Ankara (8.1%)
    • Izmir (6.8%)
