BP will pay $100 million for Tesla Supercharger

British oil giant BP signed an agreement worth $100 million with Tesla for electric car charging stations. The company, which offers electric charging at its stations with BP Pulse, is now seeking to expand this network with Tesla Supercharger charging stations.

BP winked at the electric car era with Tesla Superchager electric charging stations

The importance of the issue stems from the fact that Tesla Supercharger stations will be used for the first time under another brand such as BP. Of course, it is even more meaningful that an important brand of the oil era like BP is investing in this business. As you know, BP is not a company that only has gas stations. In this sense, the British company has important investments such as oil refineries and oil extraction facilities all over the world.

Of course, the BP Pulse brand stands out here. Despite its active ties with oil and petroleum products, the company has also been investing in the electric car market for many years. In this sense, BP Pluse is seeking to become widespread in the USA with its charging stations.

Currently, in the USA, there is an electric charging station with a DC port inside the 28 BP Pulse. However, the USA is among the countries where competition is at the highest level in terms of electric charging stations. In this sense, even the smallest competitor that dominates the market has 2000 charging points.

Earthquake in Tesla Turkey! (Why did this happen?)

Earthquake in Tesla Turkey! (Why did this happen?)

Tesla Türkiye General Manager Kemal Geçer resigned recently. Hakkı Alkan makes the final evaluations on the subject.

That’s why the company decided to purchase a $100 million Tesla Supercharger station. Thus, the British Petroleum giant will have the possibility of getting closer to its rivals in the electric car charging station race. But how many Tesla Superchargers can BP buy with $100 million? Although device installation and tax rates differ in each state, it is estimated that approximately 1000 Superchargers will be purchased. This is significant growth for BP Pulse.

Even though there is such a large charging station network in the USA, there are still electric charging station queues in certain regions. Tesla Supercharger stations to be purchased by BP have the ability to provide power up to 250 kW.

So, do you think this agreement between BP and Tesla is a sign of the end of an era? We are waiting your comments.
