Dusseldorf Angelique Renkhoff-Mücke has been in the management team at Warema, the manufacturer of blinds and roller shutters founded by her father, for almost 25 years. However, she has never experienced such an abundance of crises as she is now. The family business is already feeling falling demand due to inflation. “The willingness to invest is already declining significantly,” says the company boss in an interview with the Handelsblatt. Builders are currently giving back building sites more and more.
Nevertheless, she believes in the crisis resilience of German SMEs, even in “a new economic phase” in which prosperity and growth would no longer increase steadily. “I am sure that we will master and lift this again, the German economy is very inventive and resilient,” says Renkhoff-Mücke. Overall, the country has gained in innovative strength.
