London Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson faces a no-confidence vote by his Conservative Party on Monday. The head of the responsible party committee, Graham Brady, announced on Monday morning in London that the necessary number of corresponding applications from Tory MPs had been reached.

At least 54 Tories must apply in writing to the powerful party committee in 1922 to vote. Its chairman then sets the date for a vote in the House of Commons. The applications are confidential, only the committee chair knows how many there are.

After a period of calm, displeasure with Johnson about the Partygate scandal had recently increased again after the publication of an investigation report. Johnson has repeatedly apologized for violating strict contact restrictions to combat the coronavirus pandemic. However, he refuses to resign. The government faces too many challenges and it is irresponsible to run from them.
