BNB Chain, the community-driven blockchain ecosystem that includes the world’s largest smart contract blockchain, today announced its 2024 hackathon program aimed at accelerating the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and other key sectors in Web3. The hackathon, called ‘Building Smart and Fully-On-Chain Applications’, not only triggers the next wave of artificial intelligence innovation, it also introduces new trends shaping the industry and includes industry-leading supporters such as Polyhedra Network, Dora Factory, DEGO Finance, TUSD (TrueUSD) and THENA. It has an impressive staff.
It is estimated that 2024 will be a boom year for Web3 in many sectors. In addition to artificial intelligence applications providing 25 billion dollars in funding in 2023, predictions show that artificial intelligence-based games, which received a share of 922 million dollars in 2022, will grow to 7.1 billion dollars by 2032. DappRadar data also shows that Web3 gaming has grown significantly, with nearly 1 million unique active wallets (UAWs) interacting with Web3 gaming over the past few months.
In addition to these emerging trends, DePin and DeSci have been highlighted as ‘crypto innovations to watch in 2024’. DeSoc’s growth is also top of mind. To this end, BNB Chain hackathon 2024 was established to offer developers the opportunity to develop and make their mark in the following fields:
- Artificial intelligence
- Infrastructure
- gaming
- DePIN
- DeSoc
- DeSci
In addition to the 2024 trends, extra events from our hackathon partners will take place in the first quarter of the year to provide greater scope for creativity and innovation.
In the first quarter (Q1) of the 2024 hackathon, participants will have access to a funding pool of $60,000. Winners will receive a comprehensive Kickstart package worth $300,000 each, including credits from AWS, Google Cloud and other key development tools. Extra prizes will be available from the sponsor track, where participants can try to boost their funds with an additional prize pool of up to $115,000.
Winners will also be entitled to up to one month of BNB Chain support after the event with a dedicated technical support group. They will have the opportunity to meet directly with MVB. To thank and recognize developers who contribute to the BNB Chain ecosystem, a prize pool of $10,000 will be distributed to all eligible applications. Registration will be open between January 18 and February 1, 2024, and workshops will be held on 18, 19, 22, 24, 29, 31 January and 1 February 2024.
The application period will be between 8-22 February 2024. Winners will be announced on March 1, 2024.
