The Android equivalent of AirDrop, which enables fast and secure file sharing between Apple’s devices. Nearby ShareIt can be used on all phones with Android 6 and above operating system.
However, according to users, Share with Nearby has a shortcoming: even when logged in with the same Google account, during cross-device file sharing need buyer’s approval. This is not the case with Apple. Files can be sent to the device with the same Apple ID open without any approval.
Unapproved files can be sent with Share with Nearby
With the new update to Google Play Services, the Share with Nearby system on Android phones share with your devices option added. Users will now be able to quickly send files to their devices signed in with the same Google account without requiring approval.
The new feature, coming soon, will be available in the Share with Nearby menu. “Your Devices” You can use it by selecting the section. Here, all Android devices with which your Gmail account is currently open are listed, and when you select the phone or Chromebook you want to transfer the file to, the sending process is completed.
As always, the recipient’s approval will be required when you try to send files to devices that don’t have your Google account open. With Share with Nearby, not only photos, videos and similar files, but also you can also share apps. While the feature works seamlessly between Android phones and Chromebooks, it’s not available on Windows.
