AMD previously offered a major performance improvement for artificial intelligence functions with the Ryzen 8040 series mobile processors. Now we are here with Pro versions of the same processors. At the same time, AMD introduced the new 8000 series Pro processors for the desktop. Here are the new AMD Pro 8000 and 8040 series processors with artificial intelligence integration.
AMD Ryzen Pro series gets artificial intelligence with 8000 and 8040
Trying to stand out with artificial intelligence in its competition with Intel, AMD did not lag behind the artificial intelligence trend. In this sense, AMD, which previously introduced a 16-core NPU unit for artificial intelligence processing, has also moved these processors to the Pro version.
These new processors for business computers offer much more artificial intelligence processing power than previous generations. In this sense, the new processors that come with Zen 4 architecture also have a 16 and 12-core NPU unit for artificial intelligence support. These NPU units have between 12 and 16 TOPS of AI processing power.
AMD also offers some important features for professional users in the Ryzen 8000 and 8040 series Pro processors.
- AMD has integrated Microsoft Pluton security processor for Windows 11 PCs. This also provides hardware protection that allows users to protect more personal information in every field.
- AMD plans to roll out Ryzen AI experiences for more than 150 AI-powered ISVs by the end of 2024. ISV means special software developed by independent software developers on AMD Ryzen AI. This will allow users to experience AMD-specific artificial intelligence software.
- In terms of security, AMD is building multi-layered software security for Pro processors, in addition to Microsoft Pluton. Accordingly, professional users will be protected against complex attacks.

Of course, not all processors in the AMD Ryzen Pro 8000 and 8040 series include artificial intelligence support. In this sense, there is no artificial intelligence support in the Ryzen Pro 5 8540U processor in the mobile 8040 series. In the 8000 series, which is the desktop Pro version, there is no artificial intelligence support in the PRO 8500G, 8500GE, 8300G, 8300GE series processors.
