The processors, codenamed Donan for the entry level, Brava for the mid-level, and Hydra for the flagship, will attract attention with their artificial intelligence performance. The Donan chip will be used in the entry-level MacBook Pro, “MacBook Air” machines and the lower-end “Mac mini”, while the Brava chips will be used in the high-end MacBook Pro and high-end “Mac mini”.
It is among the leaked information that the Hydra chip is designed for the “Mac Pro” and that the Hydra chip will have two variants: “Ultra” or “Extreme”. As for the “Mac Studio,” Apple is releasing versions with an unreleased M3-era chip and will likely be higher-end than the M4 Pro and M4 Max “Brava” chips.
M4 versions of Mac desktops can support up to 512 GB Unified Memory; This qualifies as a significant jump over the current 192 GB limit.
