An earthquake of 7.7 magnitude occurred at 04:17 in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş. Another earthquake occurred at 13.24 with a magnitude of 7.6. These tremors, as well as Kahramanmaraş Diyarbakir, Adana, Osmaniye, Malatya, Gaziantep, Kilis, Adıyaman, Sanliurfa And in Hatay also caused destruction.
Along with the earthquake, unfortunately, communication problems began to be experienced. In fact, a statement was made yesterday on the subject and it was stated that 2,451 of the 8,900 base stations of the three operators in the 10 provinces affected by the earthquakes were out of service due to the serious damage they received.
While the efforts to solve the communication problem continue at full speed, President of the Presidency of Defense Industry İsmail Demir announced that the technology they were developing on their social media accounts was implemented in the disaster area for the first time.
It is stated that Aksungur UAV both increases the snapshot and provides mobile phone communication service to the citizens in the region with the base station placed on it.
Aksungur, which provides up to 50 hours of mobile communication, and the civilian base station integrated into Aksungur, the first twin-engine UAV in our country produced by TUSAŞ in the region with its Turkcell infrastructure, started to serve on Hatay, which was damaged by the earthquake.
Thanks to this capability, which is realized with the mobile data support provided by Turkcell, Aksungur; In addition to surveillance and reconnaissance activities, it also serves as a base station. By providing the energy need of the flying base station from the UAV and the transmission need via the satellite system to which the UAV is directly connected, uninterrupted mobile voice and data communication can be provided for up to 50 hours.
Aksungur -Turkcell Base Station has a permanent coverage of 8 km and a permanent coverage of 50 km2. Aksungur, which started flying in the earthquake zone, provides communication by transferring to new regions with the activation of mobile base stations in critical areas.
