After 5 years delay! F-35 5th generation…

The number of aircraft discussed on the world aviation agenda can be counted on the fingers of one hand. F-35, which is always on the agenda, SU-57, known for its relationship with radars, and MMU-KAAN, which made its first flight in recent weeks. While these 3 aircraft are constantly occupying the agenda, new news has emerged for the F-35. After a 5-year delay, the aircraft literally became the 5th generation. Here are the details…

After a 5-year delay for the F-35, full production decision was made!

It is safe to say that the F-35 has never been off the agenda for the last 10 years. Especially the start of production, Turkey’s exclusion from the program and the subsequent problems increased the popularity of the F-35, even as a “negative profit”. However, the question “which generation of the aircraft is this?” The discussions continued unabated. After this, or rather after 5 years of delay, the answer to the question came.

The decision has now been made for “full rate mass production”, that is, FRP production, for the F-35. With this decision, the Pentagon announced that the aircraft had completed all necessary tests and reached 5th generation mission maturity. In short, the F-35 has actually become the 5th generation aircraft as of March 13. This date, which was called a turning point, was unfortunately completed after a 5-year delay.

The United States and the Pentagon had actually determined the year 2019 when the aircraft would reach the required maturity, in their statements and annual programs presented to the public. However, the F-35 fell behind this schedule due to supply problems such as engine, design, composite problems and the intervening pandemic that it has experienced since the day it was put into use.

However, we should point out that it will take a long time for a fighter jet to complete all the tests. Because the slightest problem or misfortune in these planes, which are said to be “no joke”, can lead to great destruction. In addition, the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) system, which allows the F-35 to be tested against all kinds of threats in digital environments, also caused the tests to be delayed.

So what do you think about the F-35?
