EIF World Energy Congress and Fair held in Istanbul between 12-14 October opened its doors. One of the most curious subjects at the fair was electric cars and charging stations. Recently, a significant relief has been achieved in the field of electric cars, together with the companies that obtained licenses from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).

The use of electric cars may increase further in the coming period, with the statements of Selçuk Açıkyar, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Auto Charger, who stated that they have been working with electric charging stations for about 3 years. According to the news of Dünya Newspaper, Açıkyar’s statements are as follows:
“The way for this business in Turkey has opened up quickly. Turkey made a rapid attack compared to Europe and China. Of course, compared to other countries, Turkey is not in a position to give 100 percent to this business. It does not currently exist in this infrastructure. I think Turkey will go a long way in 5 years. EMRA is working on these issues. I think over time, the rails will settle even more. Especially after TOGG comes into play, this business will accelerate. Due to the high fuel prices, the trend towards electric vehicles has increased rapidly.”
Açıkyar also gave information about the users to install auto charging stations in their own homes and stated that the charger installed in the houses and the solar energy panels to be installed on the roof cost an average of 10 thousand dollars. Today, this amount, which corresponds to a large figure of approximately 185 thousand TL, is thought to pay for itself in 3 to 5 years. People who have this system installed in their homes will be able to use this electricity in their homes as well as charging their cars. There will also be opportunities to sell excess electricity.
