Dusseldorf, Berlin According to industry circles, the German authorities want to confiscate the mega yacht “Dilbar” owned by the Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov. Work on the 156-meter-long ship had already stopped on Wednesday, the US magazine “Forbes” reported on Thursday. The “Dilbar” has been revised at Blohm & Voss in Hamburg since October.
The basis for the confiscation are the sanctions against Russian oligarchs as a result of the war in Ukraine. Usmanov is considered a close confidant of Russian President Vladimir Putin and has been on a list of people to be sanctioned since the beginning of the week.
With 15,817 gross register tons, the “Dilbar” is the largest private yacht in the world. Their value is estimated at at least 800 million euros, with other estimates there is even talk of a billion-dollar value.
