He was the surprise in the HFC squad: Louis Samson (27) was allowed to play 90 minutes despite a training deficit in the 1:3 test in Braunschweig. He acted properly as a clearer and offered himself for further tasks.

Will Samson of all people become a ray of hope?

He didn’t train at all in the Turkey camp and was fighting an infection. Previously in the first half of the season he was often only on the substitutes’ bench.

But after the test on Sunday, coach André Meyer (39) said: “He certainly has some catching up to do. But he’s definitely an option for the Essen game on Saturday.”

Samson ready for the starting XI! The pro explains: “Of course it gets me breathless when I play through 90 minutes. But I’m feeling better and better and when the coach says I’ll play, then of course I’m happy.

Because Landgraf and Damer are two players locked in Essen, the options in the Halle squad are rare. That’s why Samson’s commitment would be all the more important.

Full closure! Pyro & beating on the highway

He says: “I have a very good feeling. The team has come even closer together. I want to support the boys with my experience.”

What else does Samson need now? “I will work on the liveliness like the others. We’ll use the next few days for that. Then we are ready for food.”

4:1! HFC shoots Hertha II away

For the start of the year on Saturday, there was a secret test in the Leuna-Chemie Stadium on Monday afternoon: The HFC won a training game scheduled at short notice against the amateurs from Bundesliga club Hertha 4-1 (1-0)!

The goals were scored by Gayret (22′), Landgraf (68′), Bolyki (74′) and test player Schneider (76′). Aksakal (61st) scored for the regional league to equalize in the meantime.

Halle organized the test to give all players match practice. Also those who took a break from the test on Sunday in Braunschweig (1:3) or only played for a short time.
