3G sinners on buses and trains: Lauterbach demands high fines – domestic politics

So now! The emerging Traffic light coalition wants the corona measures given steeply increasing numbers of infections tighten – among other things by a 3G rule for buses, trains and in taxis.

According to the negotiators: Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer (47, CSU) and Health Minister Jens Spahn (41, CDU) are to be commissioned to formulate the rules in detail.

According to BILD information, this is planned for buses and trains:

▶ ︎ FACT IS: Unvaccinated people can continue to use trains and buses. BUT: You have to show a current corona test. It remains to be seen how the strict rules are to be controlled.

► On long-distance trains, conductors should ask passengers for proof of vaccination, convalescence or test when checking tickets. PROBLEM: The web guide does not want to take on this additional task.

► Continuous controls are NOT possible in the S-Bahn, U-Bahn or buses, says FDP traffic expert Torsten Herbst (48): “Except with random samples, that is not possible.”

Juicy fines are intended to deter unvaccinated test-grouches. SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach (58) on BILD: “Corona fare dodging must be consistently monitored and punished with appropriately high fines.” The penalty should be similar to that for fare dodgers (60 euros). And: “It must be clear that this means: Get off at the next edge of the platform!”

Scheuer was not very enthusiastic on Monday at BILD LIVE: The SPD, Greens and FDP had “talked about Freedom Day beforehand. And now there is a mobility lockdown for the unvaccinated … “

Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (54), Greens leader Robert Habeck (52) and SPD parliamentary deputy Dirk Wiese (38) are now even speaking openly of a “lockdown for unvaccinated people”, which is intended to promote vaccination readiness in Germany.

After a cabinet exam in Munich, Söder said: “In the end it comes down to this: It’s a kind of lockdown for unvaccinated people. It cannot be otherwise. “

Habeck said in the ARD: “Contact prohibition or 2G regulation means in large parts: Lockdown for unvaccinated people. That is the vulgar translation. “

But does it stay that way?

In Austria, there has been a nationwide curfew for unvaccinated people since Monday (exception: grocery shopping, visiting a doctor, driving to work). There is a risk of fines between 500 and 1450 euros.
