16,600 points as the next price target

Dusseldorf New highs for the year can be observed more and more frequently on the German stock market. On Monday, the Dax reached 15,903 points, the fourth new annual high in the past eight trading days.

Smaller profit-taking then started again. The leading German index closed almost unchanged at 15,790 points.

With the profit-taking on Monday, the Frankfurt benchmark is back in line with the price trend after the first two highs for the year. The first time the Dax slipped further the following day.

Last Wednesday, when the Dax climbed according to the US inflation data and immediately dropped again, there was lively buying interest again the following Thursday. And on Friday, after its new high for the year, the Dax closed just over 30 points lower.

So it will be interesting to see whether the Dax will continue to consolidate the leading index tomorrow, Tuesday, after taking profits on Monday.
