Production of Tofaş Şahin and other models of the series ended 20 years ago in Turkey. But it has been produced for more than 10 years in countries such as Egypt and Ethiopia. Moreover, we see that no development has been made to these tools. In other words, it is exactly the same as what was sold in Turkey 20 years ago.

Of course, this sale takes place using different brands and models. Because the new names and logos determined by the companies that have acquired the production and sales rights are used. For example, it is sold as the Docc model of the Holland brand in Ethiopia.

However, in Ethiopia, decisions were made to stop production after 2017. Although production and sales took place periodically, it was completely terminated in the following period. However, since the demand was high due to the affordable price of the vehicle, it was decided to produce new Tofaş Şahin again in 2023.

This paved the way for people and companies that want to import this vehicle from Turkey to bring these brand new cars. However, it should be noted that due to the great demand in Ethiopia, the first two batches were sold out on the day they went on sale. So it may be necessary to queue up to buy the vehicle.

Of course, since the demand did not come only from the domestic market, it is stated that Ethiopia decided to continue production only throughout the year. The selling price of this vehicle is approximately 13 thousand dollars. That is roughly equivalent to $250,000. However, let us state that if it is imported, shipping and customs fees will be added and it will cost ±100 thousand TL.

However, it may be more logical to import the new one when compared to the second-hand versions that are tried to be sold at prices of 200-250 thousand TL in our country by saying “low mileage”, “collectible” and “inaccessible cleaning”.
