34.9% of the 4000+ Premium users who answered the survey as the biggest problem bad video suggestions choosed. The second most picked option was “Limited plan options”, the third was “Still seeing ads” and the fourth was “download issues”.
Of course, many YouTube Premium users also encounter the Premium service. problems and suggestions piled it under the share. Some of these were as follows:
“Very expensive.”
“Why are background playback and PiP features location locked? I pay the subscription fee but still have to use VPN to use background playback in some countries. There is no logical explanation for this.”
“The price is not worth it. I even had the early adoption benefit and was told I couldn’t move it to a different account that I had to switch to. Essentially all premium offers are ad-free viewing. Are premium originals and exclusive shows now available?”
“I would love a cheaper option that doesn’t include YouTube Music. I already have playlists on Spotify and I’m not interested in moving elsewhere. Another thing I would love is a YouTube desktop app that doesn’t work, especially in a Chrome window.”
“I’m on the family plan. Please let me turn off YouTube Shorts! Scrolling is so addictive that I lose a lot of time, health and sanity. For the same reason, I don’t use TikTok, but I follow and subscribe to a lot of people for their long-term videos, not their clips.”
“The most expensive streaming service ever, the recommended content is incredibly random, but the ‘free’ option is absolutely full of ads. I have the family package, it shouldn’t cost more than $20 considering everything including the possibility to have individual profiles.”
“My biggest complaint with YouTube is not having an effective option to reach a particular subscribed channel in my subscriber list. I watch YT mostly on TVs, and having to scroll through tons of channels to get to a particular channel at the bottom of a list is inefficient.”
“Bring back the non-YouTube Music plan.”
“1- No dedicated customer service for premium users. We can’t reach you if we have a problem and don’t have a priority.
2- There are no special options to separate us from regular users.”
