YouTube Music, Google’s music streaming service, is finally offering the offline music download feature on its desktop website to users. This expected feature will allow users to listen to songs and playlists without an internet connection.
YouTube Music now allows music downloads on the desktop website
Until now, the web version of YouTube Music did not have the ability to listen to music offline, which was a significant limitation compared to the mobile version. However, with the latest update, the web application also started to support offline downloads, so users can create a personalized library where they can listen to the music they want whenever they want.
To download music from YouTube Music’s desktop website, users just need to go to the album or single’s page and find the download button. This button sits between the “Save to library” and three-dot overflow menu options and allows users to save the music they choose directly to their device for offline listening.
This feature was already available on the mobile app. Now, desktop users can enjoy the same convenience and create offline music collections that they can access anytime, anywhere.
Offline downloads on YouTube Music’s web app will count towards the service’s 10-device download limit. However, this limit is wide enough to meet the needs of most users. Additionally, content from offline downloads will expire if the user’s device is not connected to the internet for at least 30 days, so the content remains up to date.
The feature will enable the platform to address the diverse needs of its user base, providing a more seamless and consistent experience across devices. What are you thinking? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
