In 2021, however, the sector can be described as a striker of the industry. She could also take this position for the time being in 2022.
It is true that business in the chemical industry has recently clouded over: raw material bottlenecks and massively expensive natural gas are affecting many companies. But the industry is coming out of this pandemic year with sales growth of 15 percent. For 2022, German chemical companies expect a further five percent growth to a volume of 231 billion euros, as the VCI found in a survey.
