Year-end Dollar and Inflation Forecasts Announced




The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey has announced its new dollar and inflation forecasts based on the Market Participants Survey. In particular, there was a significant increase in the year-end inflation forecast.

The April results of the Market Participants Survey conducted by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey every month have been shared. The survey, attended by experts in the financial and real sector, showed the changes in year-end dollar and inflation expectations. Unfortunately, the experts’ inflation and dollar expectations increased during this survey period.

According to the survey results shared by the Central Bank, current year end consumer inflation (CPI) expectations 57.92% it happened. This rate was 46.44% in the last survey period. The USD/TL expectation, which was 16.85 TL in the previous survey period, is expected in this survey period. to 17.57 output.

  • Year-end inflation expectation: 57.92% (was 46.44% in the previous period)
  • Inflation expectation after 12 months: 33.28% (was 28.41% in the previous period)
  • Inflation expectation after 24 months: 19.54% (was 17.68% in the previous period)
  • Year-end dollar expectation: 17.57 TL (It was 16.85 TL in the previous period)
  • Expected dollar after 12 months: 18.47 TL (was 17.84 TL in the previous period)
  • GDP growth expectation for 2022: 3.3% (was 3.2% in the previous period)
  • GDP growth expectation for 2023: 4.0% (was 4.0% in the previous period)
  • Current month-end overnight interest rate expectation: 14%
