Elon Musk’s social media platform X is expanding its video ambitions beyond mobile devices. In this context, it was reported that the company is preparing to launch its special application for smart TVs. The main purpose of the application will be to watch videos on X on television.
X app comes to smart TVs
X CEO Elon Musk revealed the new smart TV application in his response to a user. App coming soon Samsung and Amazon Fire TVs Confirmed that it will be available for Reports have revealed that X will offer this app with an interface similar to YouTube.
This move reflects more than a year of work on the smart TV version of the platform. Stating that they wanted to develop such an application in the past years, Musk signaled that the videos on the platform would come to televisions.
X has been placing greater priority on long, live videos over the past few years, similar to strategies implemented by Facebook and YouTube. Videos currently autoplay on the mobile app’s Discover and homepages.
On the other hand, we also know that the platform has been allowing Premium subscribers to upload long videos exclusively for a while. It is possible to say that a new era has opened on Twitter with videos of up to 2 hours.
The Smart TV application will make it even easier for users to watch hundreds of content on the big screen. However, Musk also reminded that videos can be transferred to the television via AirPlay or from devices such as Xbox / Android TV.
