This freak could have an aftermath…

When Uruguay lost the World Cup, the South Americans blamed referee Daniel Siebert (38) in particular after the final whistle. In Uruguay’s 2-0 win over Ghana, the Berlin referee denied Urus two disputed penalties.

In the end, the team coached by Diego Alonso (47) missed just one goal to prevail in the long-distance duel with South Korea and move into the World Cup round of 16.

After Siebert had blown the whistle and thus sealed the elimination of the Uruguayans, several players in the blue Uru jersey rushed at him.

Above all Jose Maria Gimenez (27)! The central defender from Atlético Madrid could hardly be held and wanted to personally take on Siebert.

Arrogance fit right in front of his eyes Uruguay star mocks our German referee!

He even elbowed a Fifa official out of the way!

After the kick, videos were uploaded to social media showing an angry Gimenez storming in the direction of Siebert. The ref is shielded by a cluster of Fifa officials and stewards.

Gimenez doesn’t care! He runs elbow first and hits a Fifa official in the back of the head. He could now face a mega lock! As the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” reports, he could have to sit out up to 15 games.

This has to do with the Fifa disciplinary code. There, Article 12 states that Gimenez would be banned for “a minimum of fifteen games or a reasonable period of time for assault (elbow, punch, kick, bite, spit, punch, etc.) at an on-ice official.”

For this, however, this gesture would have to be noted in the game log or the report of the Fifa director. It is not yet known whether the Gimenez freak would be noted.

Uruguay culprit Gimenez still has a little bit of hope left…
