Wind energy record broken! – ShiftDelete.Net

As we say goodbye to fossil fuels, renewable energy is starting to take place in our lives more and more every day. Solar and wind energy take the lead in this regard. While the work continues in order to make the most of the sun and wind, a turbine prototype stands out for the future.

Wind turbine breaks daily electricity production record

The 14-222 DD offshore wind turbine prototype manufactured by Siemens Gamesa broke the world record for the most power output from a single wind turbine in a 24-hour period. In order to better explain the power produced by the wind turbine, Siemens Gamesa stated that an average electric vehicle can travel approximately 1.8 million kilometers with this electricity.

Solar energy is more affordable than natural gas!

While the use of solar energy panels is increasing day by day, the costs have started to decrease significantly.

Siemens Gamesa’s huge wind turbine achieved a significant success, reaching this figure just 10 months after it produced its first electricity. The wind turbine continues to supply electricity to the grid of Østerild, Denmark.

The SG 14-222 DD stands out as a 14 megawatt (MW) offshore wind turbine capable of delivering up to 15 MW with Power Boost. The wind turbine, which has a rotor with a diameter of 222 meters, hosts B108 blades, which are cast in one piece and can be recycled in a length of 108 meters. The sweeping area of the turbine was announced as 39 thousand square meters.

It is predicted that this huge wind turbine can supply energy to approximately 18 thousand households annually. Siemens Gamesa has received an order for 60 SG 14-222 DD offshore wind turbines to be installed at the 882 megawatt Moray West offshore wind farm in Scotland in June. This wind farm will be the first multiple use of the turbine.

Day by day, steps continue to be taken in the field of wind and solar energy. We hope that new renewable energy sources will be added in the future. So what do you think about wind energy? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
