Berlin When Ralph Brinkhaus leafs through the newspapers these days, the head of the Union faction must be prepared for bad news. Just recently, for example, in the “Münchner Merkur”. Markus Söder announced his Christmas swing in terms of corona measures (“we want to bring ‘Team Caution’ and ‘Team Awareness’ together”).
Finally, the editors wanted to know quickly whether the future CDU leader Friedrich Merz should also reach for the group chairmanship. “I hope for a good agreement,” Söder replied, but added a comment: “But a party leader usually has the first right of access.”
Another one who indirectly tells Brinkhaus that he cannot count on his support. The CDU is reorganizing itself this weekend.
