Huawei, which came to the fore in sectors such as smartphones and telecommunications until a few years ago, is looking for its old days with a candle. The company, which was blacklisted in 2019 for its direct ties to the Chinese state and threatening US security, has largely lost its former power in both Chinese and global markets, facing devastating sanctions.

Huawei: We will not withdraw from the global smartphone market

According to industry research firms such as Counterpoint Research and Canalys, Huawei, which lost its market share in the industry to rival manufacturers, decided by increasing the gear and determined new strategies to heal the wounds of sanctions.

In this context, Huawei’s rotating CEO Guo Ping, who made important statements about the company’s future plans at MWC 2022, used the following statements;

Huawei will always stick to globalization and will never give up. In short, we will not withdraw from global markets. Our customers will also help us to the end so that we can achieve the success we aim for.

From now on, we will increase the company’s strategic investments with new technologies as well as hardware and software. This situation will gradually reflect on our competitiveness.

As it will be remembered, Huawei has made many moves, including the HarmonyOS operating system, to minimize its commitment to the USA. In fact, it has recently increased its chip investments to a great extent in order not to experience more problems with hardware such as chipsets.
