Why the Chancellor’s Party is now changing direction

Berlin Shortly after 11 p.m., Lars Klingbeil made his way home. The SPD leader has a cold. Not because of the mood in the traffic light, Klingbeil is plagued by a summer cold. And so Klingbeil left the coalition committee a little earlier than many of his colleagues.

Before going on vacation, the coalition leaders wanted to talk about the current situation again on Wednesday evening. And it was also about going into the summer break feeling better after all the gossip.

The coalition had once again argued a lot. Most recently, this was not due to the Greens and FDP, but to the Chancellor’s Party. And their chairman Klingbeil.

With his initiative to abolish the marriage splitting, Klingbeil has once again set an issue for the SPD after a long time – and immediately opened a new round of traffic light disputes.
