The armaments group and automotive supplier made it into the leading index Dax this year.

Dusseldorf Ammunition for tanks, anti-aircraft systems, retrofitting the Puma infantry fighting vehicle and parts production for combat aircraft: since the beginning of the year, Rheinmetall has been unable to escape new orders and declarations of intent. The Düsseldorf-based company benefits enormously from the fact that customers want to sell their weapon systems to the Ukraine and replenish their own stock.

The Russian war of aggression and its consequences offer Rheinmetall and CEO Armin Papperger enormous growth opportunities. He will present a record order situation to shareholders at next week’s annual general meeting on Tuesday. For the group, this also means that it has to ramp up production very suddenly.

Locations like the one in Unterlüß in Lower Saxony are being expanded, and completely new factories are to be built elsewhere: Negotiations are being made on the planned construction of a powder plant in Saxony. Rheinmetall nor government grants. The company is building three new factories in Hungary. And then there is the plan for a tank factory in Ukraine.
